Transitions w/ Geoff Connors, MD

Our guest on this episode is Dr. Geoff Connors, MD. Dr. Connors is the Associate Dean for GME and Designated Institutional Official at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He was previously the Program Director for the University of Colorado Internal Medicine Residency Program and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Medicine where he helped bring about several systematic changes to the structure of the residency to improve resident wellbeing.

Dr. Geoffrey Connors is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado in the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine. He also serves as the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education/ACGME Designated Institutional Official at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Prior to coming to Colorado, Dr. Connors was an Associate Professor of Medicine at Yale University where he served as an Associate Program Director in the Residency Training Program and the Director of Clinical Reasoning for the Medical School.

 

Dr. Connors received his medical degree from Tulane University, did his residency and Chief Medical Residency at the University of Colorado, and then completed a fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at Johns Hopkins. University School of Medicine He is a member of the American Thoracic Society and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. His leadership style is rooted in a coaching model with a focus on achieving success by granting agency and structured autonomy to trainees and junior faculty.
