THE SIN OF BLASPHEMY
1. It refers to speaking evil of or showing disrespect for God, his name, or his attributes.
2. The action or offense of speaking disrespectfully about God or holy things in a profane, secular or irreverent manner.
BIBLE DEFINITION OF BLASPHEMY
It’s the Greek Word “Blasphēmia” which means;
A. Slander or Defamation: The action of the crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation or name.
B. Detraction: Diminish the worth or value of something in terms of quality or achievement.
C. Speech injurious or harmful to a person’s good name.
D. Impious or ungodly and reproachful speech injurious to divine majesty. FORMS OF BLASPHEMY 1. Twisting Sacred Truth about God into Lies - 2 Timothy 2:15, Deuteronomy 4:1-2, Revelation 22:18-19 2.
