Players each control one of the members of G.I. Joe, progressing through 12 stages and taking down various Cobra enemies and bosses. Each character can perform light and heavy attacks, with different combinations resulting in different combo strings, as well as block, dodge and parry incoming attacks. By dealing enough damage, a special meter will fill that allows the player to use their character's special attack. Players can destroy objects in each stage to find recovery items and limited-use weapons.
