Restoration in the Mundane: David Nagel’s Journey of Faith

In this episode of Restore My Song, Joia and Rhema welcome David Nagel, the state chaplain of the Colorado National Guard and Joia's brother. The conversation explores themes of restoration, faithfulness, and the importance of authenticity in ministry. David shares personal stories of his journey, including moments of doubt and the significance of trusting God through life's transitions. When God called him to become a military chaplain, his family made many sacrifices as he went to boot camp and trained for the position.  At his first chaplaincy service, only three people came. But he realized overtime that chaplaincy is not about the numbers; it’s about being consistent with each individual. As he reflects on decades of work, he realized that his stories and impact have multiplied greatly overtime and that it takes time for people to come to Christ. He emphasizes the value of the mundane and the little things in life, encouraging listeners to recognize God's presence in their daily experiences. The discussion also touches on the challenges of fatherhood and the role of encouragement in overcoming obstacles.
