Nicole Vergos and Nick Smit are the founders of Smergos - a social movement and enterprise dedicated to breaking down barriers and building bridges between those with and without disabilities.  In 2021, a group of seven IE University Communication students conducted a social impact project for Smergos for their class on Global Challenges.

Under the leadership of professor Iôna de Macedo and Dani Lopez, the now IE graduates Carlota Guedes (our host), Laura Ortega, Enrique Garcia, Malaka Badr, Irene Alvarez, Anais Lorentz, and Maria Fernanda Gutierrez had the chance to:

• Reposition the Smergos brand from product manufacturer to social movement
• Develop a branding strategy and Brand Bible aligned with the new positioning
• Create two animated logos for the Smergos and Smergos Social brands
• Offer a make-over to Eddie, Smergos's mascot
• Deliver a series of social media tutorials and social media templates to reinforce Smergos brand identity and presence
