This week Andy and Riley sit down and talk with Dave Colling of Rainbows R Us to discuss everything Brazilian Rainbow Boa morph related. Dave has been breeding Rainbows as well as various other boas for many years and has pioneered some of the wildest mutations in rainbows! This is one you will not want to miss.
Riley & Andy get back together after a long-ass hiatus to discuss the recent uptick in popularity and the increasing market trend of the Dumeril's Boa. Is it a good thing or a bad thing for the reptile hobby?
This week we are joined by our good friend and fellow podcaster Jacob Bratz of JLB Morelia and THP to discuss his Papuan Carpet Python projects he has been working on, what his breeding goals are, and how things have been going with a two year running podcast. We will also be getting into some of the other species he keeps as well as what his future goals are.
Today we are talking with Joe Phelan from Port City Pythons/ Port City Pets and the From The Ground Up Podcast. Joe is a master of various colubrids and in my opinion, is partially responsible for a recent resurgence in Corn Snake Popularity. So we are going to learn how to keep these snakes and find out why they are coming back around.
This week we are joined by none other than the youthful witty side of our beloved Morelia Python Radio fore-fathers, Mr. “O-Mac Special” Owen McIntyre of Rogue Reptiles. We are going to put this long time reptile podcast host in the hot seat for once and really dig into some of the “etc” species that he keeps and how he manages such a diversity of climate needs in his population of reptiles.
This week we finally made it happen! We have talked about having Dan on since the inception of this podcast and we finally had the schedules line up. We will discuss his upbringing into the reptile hobby, his approach to keeping, and how he does it all so successfully all the while running a big importation business as well.
This week we return from a brief hiatus, however, Andy Rea has taken on more of a technical support role for the time being while the world and life take precedent (rightfully so). We await his return whenever he is ready. In his absence my guest this week is also a Podcast host and proficient in filling such shoes, Mr. Justin Smith of Palmetto Coast Exotics, the Herpetoculture Podcast, and the Chondrocast as well as one of the founders of the Herpetoculture Magazine. We will dive into all of that and how he makes time for all of his endeavors.
This week we are joined by our great friend Brian Kusko of Triple B Tv. Brian has literally built his reptile and youtube empire from the ground up and I have seen the evolution of his snake rooms over time so we are here to discuss such growth! We also have plenty of wonderful stories and laughs sprinkled throughout this very fun episode!
This will be a follow-up episode to Episode #2 to continue the discussion. We are joined by Ryan Presto who utilizes a variety of tools and tricks to manage his animals as well.
This week we are joined by Eric Burke of EB Morelia and Morelia Python Radio to discuss all the ins and outs of Reptile Podcasting and Dialing in a Reptile Room. Eric has many years of experience working with a wide variety of species of snakes and how challenging some can be and what it takes. He also has years of podcasting experience!
Travis Johnson of Living Legless Reptiles works with a diverse group of reptiles. In this episode we discuss his approach to keeping Bull Snakes, how he manages his reptile room for an array of animals, and what the world of Pituophis has to offer keepers.
This week we beat the dead horse of one of the most tired debates in recent herpetoculture: Racks vs. Cages. Ever since the inception of rack systems for the large scale breeding of snakes, there has been an ongoing debate of the ethics of utilizing this caging system.
Riley takes the wheel on this episode and discusses a recent work trip briefly and then shifts gears into morelia breeding talk. This time of year is the heart of the morelia breeding season so he rounds off the discussion with relevant breeding talk.
We recap the 2020 January Reptile Super Show in its first time utilizing a 3 acre venue in Anaheim!!! Andy was not able to attend, but Riley was there and we chat about what went down.
