Lightwave has an interesting backstory. It was originally conceived in November 2020 with the opening track always intended to be the first song of the mix. Over time, several songs danced in and out of the playlist, but the mood of the mix has always been on the same intense trajectory. In the spring of 2021, I released the first part of my two part opus called Annoconfinamento. I expected the original Lightwave project to be part two of the Annoconfinamento soundscape, but as I continued to tinker with and refine it, Lightwave evolved into its own distinct aural journey. This path took me much further than expected — so far, in fact, that Lightwave is now the longest mix I’ve ever curated...pushing 5 hours of music. It’s an interplay of moody new progressive tracks, intermingled with some emotional classics and a few reinterpretations of monster late night dance floor grooves.
