In this episode we explore the concept of a world come of age, a notion introduced by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Listen in as we discuss the significance of a non-religious interpretation of faith and how it is especially relevant in the face of the current tumultuous state of the world. We draw from history, acknowledging the advances of science, rationality, and progress that allowed humanity to transition from centuries of superstitious thinking to a more enlightened understanding. However, we also address the devastating consequences of this adolescent phase, reflected in the millions of lives lost in World War I and II, and the oppression caused by leaders like Stalin and Mao Zedong.
