Jahrhundert, die sich in dieser Zeit zunehmend in Ost-, West- und Südslawen differenzierten – ein Prozess, der jedoch alles andere als klar oder gradlinig verlief. Grenzregionen, verschwindende Stämme, das bulgarische Khanat, Konflikte mit Byzanz und dem Frankenreich und ein politischer Wandel allgemein prägten diese Zeit.
