The Recover2gether podcast highlights the challenges that members of the voluntary and business sectors in West Kent’s Sevenoaks District are experiencing, the lessons learnt and the path they hope to take. Members of both sectors have been paired up to have an open chat about the challenges they face and the hope they have for the future. If you are a business owner that has been impacted by Covid 19 then there will be potential solutions for problems you are facing and potential collaborations with those being interviewed to help you recover and grow. (Final Episode) Episode 9: Too many COOKs......feed thousands :)

The aim of this short series of podcasts is to see how both  businesses and the voluntary sector have weathered the pandemic storm. We explore  if there have been shared experiences that have helped and potentially if any of these can go on or be developed further to help strengthen the links between the two. The title reflects a key lesson learnt in the episode...

Joining me on this episode are Eliza Ecclestone, Founder of Care for our Community and Nick Bartlett, Manager at COOK (Sevenoaks)

Care for our Community is a Facebook page that mobilised over 1500 volunteers to help those in need during lockdown.

COOK is a manufacturer and retailer of frozen ready meals, established in 1997 and based in Sittingbourne, Kent. Their founding statement is, ‘To cook using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home, so everything looks and tastes homemade.’ All their meals are made without the use of artificial additives and preservatives.

Throughout locked down, COOK Sevenoaks provided thousands of free meals that were then distributed through the volunteer network brought together through Care for our Community to those in need.
