On this Episode of Records In My Life Militarie Gun vocalist Ian Shelton talks about the band's Year of The Gun, records that have inspired him and his bandmates. Hanging out with fan of the band Post Malone on the road, and much more. The band will be hitting the road this year with High Vis for a North American tour.
Formed in 2020, Militarie Gun is defined by musical restlessness. The band draws on a wide range of influences to make something that sounds combative yet accessible, and undeniably their own with echos of the unhinged guitarwork of Born Against, the propulsive cadences of hip hop, the up-front bass of Fugazi–and most importantly, the hooks. Militarie Gun’s songs are instantly memorable, employing a melodic sensibility that’s just as informed by the work of Robert Pollard and Paul McCartney as it is by Black Flag. Most recently, the band released All Roads Lead To The Gun (Deluxe) in October of 2022 through their new label Loma Vista Recordings.
