Story Text

El té es una bebida muy popular en todo el mundo. En el norte de África, la gente le añade menta al té. En Oriente Medio, le ponen cardamomo. En Estados Unidos, prefieren el té helado. A pesar de estas variaciones regionales, el tomar té se sigue considerando típicamente británico. En el Reino Unido, el té tiene una larga historia que data del siglo XVII. En 1784, cambios en los impuestos hicieron que el té pasara de ser un lujo a una necesidad diaria. En el siglo XVIII, todo el té que se exportaba en el mundo pasaba por Londres, haciendo de esta ciudad el centro mundial del té. Aunque el método británico de preparar té es solo uno de muchos, tiene un lugar especial en la cultura británica.
