In this episode Moses continues to give the Israelites instructions, rules, and regulations they will have to live by once they get into the promised land of Canaan. It was a capital offense in the Old Testament to disobey and dishonor your parents. We are under the new covenant so we no longer have capital punishment for disobedient children. That being said, I do think we have to continue to put our children in God’s hands. If we have counseled them and warned them about some bad decisions (I am speaking of adult age children) we have to learn to let it go. Even if we know they are going to learn the hard way. Remember, God is molding and making our children just like He’s molding and making us. God can take care of our loved ones better than we can 😊.
