The town of Hamelin is plagued by rats until the Pied Piper lures them away with his magic pipe. When the greedy mayor refuses to pay the piper he learns the importance of keeping promises. In this version of the classic tale a quick thinking deaf child saves the children of Hamelin from following the piper and only the mayor is left dancing out of the town gate. (My apologies to people who prefer the original plot, but my children begged me to change it!)
