After a full stint in college, Jacqueline Marshall basically got her degree and had nothing to show for it. There was no career or million dollar job waiting for her on the other side. Not really knowing any better, she bought a cafe and learned how to run it after attending two years in the school of hard knocks.
Her partnership dissolved and she went back to school to be a dental hygienist. And after three years of doing that, she definitely knew that career path wasn't for her either. While the salary was respectable, the hours were unsustainable for her well being over the course of 30+ years.
So in the effort to pivot, she put her home up for sale and after it didn’t sell, out of frustration, she put it up for rent. With the money she was still making from her job, she bought another property… and then another. And after the sixth one, the light bulb switched on and she started doing flips. And after making in one flip what she would make in a year, she decided that she’d never go back to a dental hygiene office ever again.
And that's where we meet Jacqueline in this episode. Three years later, she’s still a full time house flipper and has gained a wealth of knowledge in the DIY space.
Up to date, she has recently acquired her first multi-family property (which is a fixer) and is beginning to step back from her business to focus more of her efforts on scaling it.
