She was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, but is now living in the Bay Area, California. Harman is a Panjabi Sikh woman, and she uses her writing to express and explore the complexities that come with her identity. Tavroop and Harman discuss the writing process of phulkari, representation of Kaurs’ stories, the influence of role models that shape us as teens - positive and negative, The importance of learning about our itihaas through literature - the influence on teens, our own spiritual journeys and book 2.
