We’re all storytellers. And these stories we tell not only shape our opinions, give us new perspectives and a shared sense of history, but they also give meaning and color to our lives. They connect us and bring us together.
As a documentary filmmaker, I’ve noticed that there’s a special kind of story that we share — colorful stories that become part our own personal myth. As we spin them and toss them around, they evolve and get embellished.
I’ve always kept a keen ear for stories — the big stories and especially the small ones. But a lot of them end up falling through the cracks. Radio Cut is my new home for some of them.

I’m David Usui and this is my new podcast Radio Cut.
I’ve noticed that there’s a special kind of story that we share. A story that usually evolves. A story that we may might embellish over time. But at its heart, they’re the colorful stories that become our own personal myth.
As a documentary filmmaker, a lot of these stories for me have fallen through the cracks. This podcast is my new home for some of them. I’m not sure exactly what shape they’ll take yet. It’s really an experiment. I’m kind of assuming this too will evolve and change, just like our stories do. You’ll have to tune in to see where it all takes us.
