A Band of Fathers: Aviv Nechushtan Reflects on His Year At War

Aviv and his team of Maglan commandos served together for over two decades. They saw action in every conflict since then, including the Second Lebanon War and Cast Lead. On Oct 8th, Aviv and his men were called up to evacuate the victims of the massacre under fire, and they have served in Gaza almost continuously since then.

Now fathers, husbands, employees, and business owners, this group of men continues to put themselves in harm's way even as the trumpets fade, and their efforts go unnoticed.

Aviv speaks to their deep sense of mission, and devotion to the hostages, and to the people of Israel that keeps them going.

Yet, even as they prepare for another round in Gaza, they are still struggling with equipment shortages that are plaguing reserve units across the IDF.

We are trying to raise $20,000 to supply the unit with PEQs, an essential piece of equipment for night fighting to do our part in bringing these fathers home alive.
