Kevin Day - Aspiga, Graduation Speech, Part-Time PR

Kevin Day joins us this week on the podcast. On top of being a member of the much loved indie-punk band Aspiga, he is also behind the (mostly) solo project Graduation Speech, which just released a brand new EP via Jetsam-Flotsam Records.

Beyond being an active musician, Kevin Day is also a public relations manager with his company Part-Time PR. Seeing that there was a need for artists that might not otherwise be able to get the coverage that other bands with larger budgets might be able to afford, Kevin puts his extra time and sweat into helping artists that he believes in so that they can get in front of as many eyes and ears as possible. And I can say from my own experience having worked with him that he is great at this.

During this episode, we discuss his time as a musician and as a pr agent, and how those two distinct positions intertwine. We talk about the New Jersey music scene and how it's changed over the years, and touch on his beginnings working with Jump Start Records while he was in college. We of course discuss some of the bands he is fond of, as well as his 5 desert island album picks.
