Have brunch with the girls and talk all the latest news and shade with the best Black & POC led Queer live radio show on the planet! Queer State of Mind is a weekly popular culture, news and lifestyle talk show from the lens and perspectives of Queer People of Color and their allies and friends. Airs weekly Saturdays at 12 Noon on Radio Free Brooklyn. Hosted by Saidue Karmo, Deron Dalton, Micah Peterson, Orie Givens and Marquis Green with a variety of special guests, visitors and featured cocktails. Radio Free Brooklyn is a non-commercial community freeform Internet radio station, streaming original content by artists and residents of NYC’s most populous borough 24/7. We live in an age in which the media is too often used as a means to constrain and restrict rather than express. Radio Free Brooklyn is building a communication infrastructure to strengthen the community of artists and residents of NYC’s most populous borough. Our Mission: We chose Internet radio not only because it is the most accessible medium for many, but because radio can be so many things: a subversive apparatus, a political cudgel, a prank, a ritual, a bond. We broadcast not the commercial dross that clogs the terrestrial airwaves, but original programming as diverse as the programmers themselves – stories, sound art, radical ideation, comedy, sex, and experimentation yet unheard. We are a community organization - all are welcome to participate.

Episode 813 Part 1: Earthquakes, eclipses and shade - Oh my!
Orie moderates this post-earthquake episode of Queer State of Mind. In case you were underground or otherwise unbothered, you might have felt a slight shake...and by shake we mean a 4.8 earthquake and 4.0 aftershock, plus other smaller ones around the region. The gurls talk about the impact and where they were with special guest Joe Mode. They also talk about the upcoming eclipse and whether anyone is traveling for the special event. And in light of the earth going wild, the gurls discuss whether they are disaster-prepared.  This show is New Music April with all new tracks and the newsbrief of the week discusses hearts at the Idaho capitol, a UN resolution recognizing intersex folks and more.  This episode of Queer State of Mind aired live on 4/7/2024 on Radio Free Brooklyn.  David Guetta, One Republic - “I Don’t Wanna Wait” Peggy Gou - “1+1=11” Steve Aoki, Kiddo - “Drive” Charli XCX - “Club classics” JoJo Siwa - “Karma” Kehlani - “After Hours”  Doja Cat ft. Teezo - “MASC” GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion - “Wanna Be”
