Denise Diaz is a Filipino army veteran who has served the US army. She has been deployed in Iraq where she’s seen different perspectives, challenges and deaths. Her parents originally wanted her to be a nurse, giving her an ultimatum that she either becomes a nurse or she wouldn’t have their support.
As a response, she ran away from home and decided to join the military. She’s now managing a business in the hospitality industry, has just finished chemotherapy and seeks to help fellow army veterans have a smoother transition from army life to civilian life.
