Milk and Son is a Punjabi story written by Bachint Kaur.

After the death of his wife, Baba Baru, a father of five sons, decides that they will now spend three months in their homes, but Baru's mind is to stay with Kartare in his ancestral home. The families of his sons start considering him a burden and are not ready to respect his wishes. He has to spend three months in different houses unwillingly. From above, the nagging of his daughters-in-law also torments him. He compares himself with his brother who has only one son and there is no question of getting a share of his father's property. The mental anguish of Baba Baru at the age of 80 is depicted in this story.
