In this episode of Public Sector Perspectives, Dr Steve Hodgkinson talks about the potential impacts of AI on the way the public sector works. Drawing on his long experience in the sector, including his current position as Chief Digital Officer for Victoria Police, Steve offers some very practical advice on how public servants can safely use the new tools that AI creates and the sort of the traps that you need to avoid. Whilst it’s tempting to see AI is being totally new and different, Steve argues that AI is still just IT and that many of the IT policies and procedures that we have built in the past are still relevant in the AI-enabled workplace. Episode 28: International Women's Day Gala Dinner 2023 unanswered audience questions
Professor Eleanor Bourke AM (Chair of the Yoorrook Justice Commission) and Aunty Geraldine Atkinson(Co-chair of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria) in conversation with Angela Singh (IPAA Victoria Board member and Regional Director at the Victorian Department of Education) answer audience questions from IPAA Victoria's International Women's Day Celebration. How do you find the personal strength to stay involved in discussions and hear stories that are incredibly important but that must often also be deeply traumatic? https://on.soundcloud.com/C1xbh What does treaty mean to you and how will it change the work you do? How does Treaty and truth-telling impact you every day? https://on.soundcloud.com/pHC8C How do you advocate for inclusive cultural change? https://on.soundcloud.com/NXFex What advice can you give to non-First Nations colleagues on how to best support First Nations colleagues? https://on.soundcloud.com/DUA1M What are some barriers you all face, as a woman, and as a First Nations person? How did you overcome them? https://on.soundcloud.com/CCLyJ I am interested in the panels’ views on the Voice To Parliament and the challenge to make sure the conversation about the Voice is not divisive across the country. https://on.soundcloud.com/mt6xb As First Nations female leaders, what is one piece of leadership advice that you received that made a difference for you that you would like to share? https://on.soundcloud.com/BjPrV Who has inspired you in your leadership journey? And why? https://on.soundcloud.com/ygS2f What is the panels advice for young women, looking to make their substantive mark in public or public service life or in the community? https://on.soundcloud.com/6oZXp
