Seattle votes on caste, HAF's Suhag Shukla provides context, Haley hated by the left & right
On this edition of Protected Speech, Ravi Kapur and Jonathan Choe recap Seattle's new caste law. The Hindu American Foundation's Co-founder & Executive Director Suhag Shukla discuss the legal implications this ordinance may have in Seattle and beyond. Crime is spiking in Seattle, homeless encampments are thriving, and there is no end in sight. Jonathan explains the national media is now paying attention. Meanwhile, Seattle's Summit Sierra High School is caught in the middle of open air drug deals, homeless encampment infernos, and a black market that's thriving in Chinatown-ID. This is just the latest crisis threatening the safety of students in Seattle. While city, county, and state leaders remain paralyzed as near term solutions fail. And in another AAPI hate crime, a man throws eggs towards an Asian woman visiting San Francisco while sitting on a bus.
