Ep16: Lia Winter - Athletic Injury Turned Entrepreneurial Inspiration

Project Inspire is an interview podcast created and produced by students in the Haslam College

of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and sponsored by Haslam’s Office of

Student Engagement. In this episode, we are joined by Lia Winter– Ms. Winter took inspiration from her mother’s ACL surgery complications and her own experiences recovering from sports injuries to develop EasyWhip, an innovative two-part needle used in orthopedic suturing. Ms. Winter fully embraced life as an entrepreneur, and after graduation from UT’s MS MBA program, she co-founded Winter Innovations, where she currently serves as CEO. Ms. Winter also highly values the importance of mentorship and stays connected to students, young professionals, and future entrepreneurs as a mentor.
