This podcast consists of interviews with former soldiers about their experience of the war in Afghanistan and life after. This is a "ground up" project, the "grunts-eye view" covering everything from counterinsurgency, courageous restraint, the current political situation in Afghanistan as well as mental health. Oh and "stag" (guard duty) lots and lots of stag. This is not endorsed by the MoD and the views expressed are the individuals own and do not represent any organisation. This is an ongoing project and anyone wishing to contribute can contact me at @DanielMeally on Twitter

Blue to Green: Armed response Police officer to Infantry soldier

Stew left his well paid job as a specialised Police officer in the Mets armed response unit to join the TA/reservists landing him sharing a four man room at 1 Rifles with people in their late teens. Later he was a key member involved in one of the worst incidents on H14 the finding and recovery of Highlander Scott McLaren. Enjoy.
