On this Project, we investigate why the town of Portlock, Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula became a ghost town no later than 1950. Many say the people of Portlock, Alaska left due to a supernatural, Bigfoot-like creature called the Nantiinaq. We go over some theories of why Portlock was abandoned, why the legend might exist in the first place, and what the heck the Nantiinaq might be, if it’s even real.
