Daily Devotion:
"The Joy of God's Gift"
Ecclesiastes 5:20
New Living Translation
20 God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past.
Ecclesiastes 5:20 says, "They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart." This verse invites us to ponder the fleeting nature of life and the importance of gratitude.
In our fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in our daily tasks and worries, forgetting to appreciate the blessings around us. The writer of Ecclesiastes encourages us to pause and recognize the joy and gladness that God provides. When we actively reflect on our lives, we begin to see how even small moments can be filled with God's grace.
Consider setting aside time each day to reflect on your experiences, noticing the good amidst the challenges. As you do this, invite God into your reflections and seek to understand His hand in your life. Remember, joy isn’t just about happiness; it’s about a deeper connection with God and recognizing His presence.
Allow His gladness to fill your heart, and share that joy with others. In doing so, we cultivate a thankful spirit and a more profound appreciation for the gift of life.
