
Adam Spence the founder and director of the Social Venture Connexion (SVX) at MaRS. He is also the co-founder of both the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing and the School for Social Entrepreneurs Ontario. Before his time at MaRS, Adam was executive director of the Ontario Association of Food Banks and a community leader speaking out on issues related to education, poverty and social finance. In 2002, Adam was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, and in 2012 he was named one of McMaster University’s 125 People of Impact.
We talk about his journey from non-profit organizations into social finance and how he is creating an impact while maintaining a healthy return.
