A pop music conversation between two pop music fans who are also musicians... After endless discussions about our favorite artists/writers/producers and pop music history, we decided to take our obsession to the mics and start Pop Kitchen, here in Lesley’s Kitchen! We hope to break down some of the most current trends within pop music culture whilst also deep diving back in time to freak out about the songs that inspired them. 10. Haim’s "Now I’m In It" and our not so secret love for Savage Garden !!
Pop Kitchen has hit the double digit episodes and we are breaking down a new song from out fave LA based sister band HAIM. This episode has Lesley and Jeff strutting through the streets of the East Village in full music video mode! The simple percussive guitars are making us happy and reminiscent of Savage Garden's first single from 23 years ago. Not to mention these melodies are sticking in our heads just like a chicka cherry cola.
Other music new and old we must mention ;
- Coldplay "Orphans" and "Arabesque”
- Kanye "Jesus Is King"
- Kesha "Raising Hell”
- Wrabel "11 Blocks"
- Selena Gomez
- Julia Michaels
- Walter Afanasieff
Oh and Spiegel in the East Village
