Elena Crevello & Chelsea Davison
62 episodes
Professional comedy writers Elena Crevello and Chelsea Davison are obsessed with rom coms, because it’s one of the only genres that actually centers female stories. Join them as they take a look back at classic romantic comedies to appreciate the good, the bad, and the totally sexist with fresh eyes… Commenting on all the things they were too lovestruck to see the first time. Every week Elena, Chelsea, and their guest will dig into the clumsy leads and quirky best friends, analyze rom com tropes, and share how these films inspired them/warped their ideas of love. Come along as they revisit the chick flicks that taught a generation of women you’re not ugly, you just have glasses.

Just Friends: In 2005 Everyone Hated Women

CATEGORY: BFFS WHO ARE DTF

For the final rom-com in our friends-to-lovers theme BFF's Who Are DTF, we watch the 2005 Ryan Reynolds, Amy Smart, Anna Faris movie 'Just Friends.' This movie is a throwback to a time where the worst thing that could happen to a guy was getting "friendzoned" since apparently women were only suitable as friends if you got to also have sex with them. But are the characters even friends? Would Chris Klein's serenade actually work on women? Should Anna Faris have been on SNL? Is there a really good movie in here hiding under the layers of the fat suit? We can't help but go deep on this extremely polarizing holiday cult-favorite.
