Sports Producer, Writer and Editor Louis Myles

Hi everyone!

This episode I talk to Louis Myles who is a director, producer, writer and editor. He's had a fantastic career working across all forms of media. His first feature film Kaiser The Greatest Footballer Never To Play Football was selected for Tribecca! And nominated for Best UK Feature Film at the Raindance Film Festival. His latest offering Liverpool: The 30 Year Wait recently dropped on iPlayer and is a must watch...

We talk about:

What it is he does.

His “regular day to day.”

Finishing university and starting to work at the BBC Edit Suite.

Working for the BBC sports team and travelling the world.

His decision to strike out on his own and become freelance.

How he started making feature length sports documentaries.

What it’s like making a huge documentary remotely, during Covid, and how they dealt with the new restrictions.

How long form sports documentaries such as All or Nothing Tottenham Hotspur are made.

How social media has helped changed sports marketing and commercials.

Apologies for any of the slight sound issues, due to Covid 19, this was recorded over Zoom.

Thanks as always for the questions we received through the socials, this time from Dan Kriss, Robert Knowles, Andy Nimmo and Mark Vinnicombe.
