What does helping individuals and entire communities look like when a country is facing war? Sagit and Ruth, two Israeli social workers and university lecturers from Bar-Ilan University, share their experiences with crisis intervention and long-term support during armed conflict.
They talk about the concept of shared traumatic reality, in which both professionals and clients face the same threats, the risk of secondary traumatization, and the importance of caring for the helpers themselves. They also introduce Israeli models of crisis intervention – Basic PH and MAS.
