The party delves underground to discover the mysteries that lie beneath the sand...

RECAP: Last we met, our party made their way out of Port Koth and onto the Saffron Sands, where they saw guards from Mount Koth drifting over the sands on curious wind-powered contraptions. Asana, the Yuan-ti snake woman they had been traveling with departed, following a snake as it slithered over the dunes and stealing one of the guards' sand boards as they entered into a small hut in the sand. In the hut, they overheard the feline guards looking for a small grung who had passed through the area, and the Yuan-ti behind the counter told them the truth: He had taken a balloon to Das Kihoj, the land of the Loxodon to the north. When the guards left, the party attempted to convince him to give them a balloon for free, which didn’t quite work. Instead, they put him to sleep, broke his glass case of swords, moved a basket inside, decided not to tie him up, and then pretended like nothing happened- iconic. After successfully getting him on their side and settling on a rental price of one stone per day, they got into their balloon and drifted off, promising they would bring it back in two days' time. On their journey, Thibault saw visions in the sand, the Sanctuary Saints, the three fox goddesses that created this world, laughing and playing with something- something that seemed eerily similar to the item they were carrying in their suitcase, on its way to be delivered to Das Kihoj. In the sky, they met with a strange and effervescent merchant, Bubu, a tortle from Bo selling wares out of his balloon. Vibrant attempted to make a deal- royalty rights to her new hit single for his wares, but he seemed set on earning everstone. After revealing they were carrying Centrapoint technology with them, he warned them to be careful or get rid of it. Soon after the balloons parted, they got that chance. Attacked by flying sand birds from below, their balloon tore and fell, landing in the sand close to a Yuan-ti encampment. There, they met Teti, Asana’s daughter, who had choice words to say about her mother. Vibrant enjoyed a cup of tea from the camp’s infirmary and Thibault sold a Centraband in exchange for heavy armor. Meanwhile, Teti offered to show Eve the large tent in camp…where she came face to face with a dark truth.
