Welcome to the Photo Mentors podcast. Each episode we speak to a photographer or filmmaker and find out the experiences and advice that make them who they are today.
We do this by asking 10 key questions, the same questions to each guest so that we can find common themes and compare how different photographers and filmmakers go about their craft.

This episode I speak to Joe Allam. Joe is probably best described as a storyteller who shoots travel and street photographs that document his adventures around the world. Of course he well known for his self-titled YouTube channel where he documents his journeys and creates short films such as his most recent ‘Made in Japan’. Along with his partner Elly, Joe also co-creates the Jelly Journeys YouTube channel.
Joe has a background in graphic design, which comes across not only in his travel and street photographs, but also the clean titles and visuals he uses on his videos.
A lover of technology and cameras, Joe’s channel offers insight in to the camera kit he uses, as well as showing how he creates his photos and video describes a lot of his photo taking process on his channel, which makes it both entertaining and insightful.
