Philosophical Entertainment is a concept coined by Alan Watts, who referred to himself as a Philosophical Entertainer. Through listening to Watts, we decided to take up the mantra of making philosophy entertaining again!

Science only studies the usual, which is why our objective has been to take uncommon topics (the more taboo the better) and dive into why it makes us uncomfortable. As we settle into our fears, we find that it is what lies behind the heebie jeebies that has us scared; it is death that has us frightened. That being the case, we want to explore death and find out why we feel so unsettled with our own mortality.

Affirmations - The Spirit of Play Lives in Me
If you’re not philosophically entertained, our entertainment is only philosophical.

Season 4, Episode 12: Affirmations – The Spirit of Play Lives in Me
Episode Overview
🧸 Reconnecting with the Inner Child

I am safe to be playful, curious, and free.

My inner child is not lost β€” they are waiting for me to listen.

I honor the voice of my inner child with love and tenderness.

I forgive myself for growing up too fast.

I return to innocence, not naivety β€” to presence, not pretending.

I trust the wisdom of delight.

The child in me still believes in miracles β€” and they’re right.

I listen when my inner child whispers, β€œLet’s go.”

🎠 Embracing Playfulness & Lightness

I give myself permission to be lighthearted.

I make space for silliness, spontaneity, and surprise.

I remember that life is not a test β€” it’s a playground.

I can be both deep and playful, both wise and wild.

I play not to escape life, but to return to it.

I am not too old to dance in the rain.

I am not too serious to be silly.

I laugh without apology.

My play is sacred β€” it connects me to the divine.

🌞 Calling in Joy

Joy is not something I chase β€” it is something I allow.

Joy is my natural state. I am returning home to it.

My joy uplifts others β€” it is not selfish, it is service.

I celebrate small victories with big gratitude.

I let go of heaviness and return to lightness.

I am joy in motion β€” alive, radiant, whole.

I smile at the sky and feel it smiling back.

I greet each moment with a sense of adventure.

Laughter is sacred medicine, and I welcome it often.

I notice beauty in the forgotten corners.

🌼 Gratitude & Presence

Gratitude turns the ordinary into magic.

I see the world with eyes of wonder.

I thank the small things, for they are often the most meaningful.

I give thanks for the moment I’m in β€” it will never come again.

Gratitude turns what I have into more than enough.

I tend to my joy like a garden β€” gently, daily, with care.

Every breath is a new beginning.

I am worthy of simple pleasures.

I am allowed to rest, to play, to pause β€” without guilt.

🌟 Empowered Living & Self-Belief

I create space for awe to enter my day.

I honor the part of me that still believes in possibility.

My joy is a revolution.
