Welcome to the FIRST EVER episode of PharmCAST presented by the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. Your guide through the latest in Pharmacy news, practice updates and research breakthroughs. I’m your host Dr. Christopher Edwards, assistant professor and clinical pharmacy specialist in emergency medicine and I’m here with my co-host Ali Bridges, director of communications for the UA College of Pharmacy.
We decided to kick off this show by discussing the topic that is on everyone’s minds these days, SARS-CoV-2 also known as the pathogen that causes COVID-19.
Today on the show we have three guests from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, Dr. Rick Schnellmann, Dean of the college of Pharmacy, will provide us with some insight into the mitigation plans schools are considering for the fall, as well as Dr. Ashley Campbell who will discuss how plans were created at the college level, and then Dr. Mandana Naderi, will stop by to talk with us on the current status of COVID-19 treatment options.
