James Earl Jones as Thulsa Doom was the leader of a snake cult in the 1982 movie Conan the Barbarian starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It is an epic sword & sorcery film directed by John Milius and written by Milius and Oliver Stone.

The Character Thulsa Doom was something else. He could act kind and turn around and kill you in an instant. James Earl Jones made the character and acting seem so real, although you knew you were watching a fantasy movie.

The most creepy part of the movie was when Thulsa Doom slowly turned into a snake right in his clothes. His face began to change slowly, and you could see his head moving that was covered under his head covering, and his hands began to draw up into his sleeves.

It was my first time seeing a face being morphed into something else like that. What made it so creepy was it was the face of James Earl Jones. And I’m wondering, “Wow! How did they do that?” And I didn’t know anything about computers in 1982. It was very amazing to me.
I’m Gail Nobles, and you’re listening to Paudio, the source of sound.
