There Is No Bear (Autism)

How many new autism diagnoses have you heard about this year? And how many times has someone on your TikTok timeline mentioned being neurodivergent? And how many times have you rolled your eyes thinking "everybody can't be autistic." Well, what if someone told you that we all got a little touch of the 'tism? That's what Victoria Reese is discussing with her guest on this episode of Patient In You. Natasha Nelson, AKA the SuperNova Momma, has been an advocate and educator for mental illness and developmental delays, and is considered a trusted expert in the field. She's giving us a better look into what it truly means to be on the spectrum.

About the guest: Natasha Nelson, also known as Supernova Momma, is the CEO of Supernova Parenting, an organization that empowers caregivers of families facing mental illness and intellectual development disabilities. She is a disability advocate, a certified educator and facilitator for positive discipline and mental health initiatives, a highly decorated veteran, and mother to two autistic Black girls. Natasha’s award winning advocacy and leadership is all achieved while managing her own neurodivergence - she is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), PTSD, and Somatic Symptom Disorder (SSD). she uses her education, personal and professional experience to inspire all families facing mental illness and/or intellectual developmental disability and neurodivergence, arming them with the tools and resources they need to break down barriers and thrive.
