2025 Episode 15: STRETCH OUT.... and BE HEALED

Stretch Out… and Be Healed

Scripture: Matthew 12:9–14

Focus Verse: Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. — Matthew 12:13 (NIV)

We often wait to feel "ready" before we step out in faith. We want the pain to stop, the shame to go, or the situation to fix itself — then we’ll move.

But in Matthew 12, we see a different picture.Jesus enters the synagogue and finds a man with a withered hand. No name. No backstory. Just the pain. And Jesus doesn’t heal him and then ask him to stretch. He asks the man to stretch while the hand is still broken.

Can you imagine the courage that took?He could’ve said:“Lord, it’s been like this too long.”“I’m too embarrassed to try.”“What if nothing changes?”

But he obeyed — and healing came in the stretch. What if your healing doesn’t begin after you're ready, but when you respond in faith?Jesus still speaks today. He still sees the withered parts of your life — the ones you’ve stopped believing in, the ones you hide from others. And He still says, “Stretch out your hand.”

Reflection Questions:

1. What "withered" area in your life have you stopped stretching toward healing?

2. What would it look like for you to obey Jesus today, even while you're still hurting?

3. Are you willing to take one small step of faith, trusting that healing begins in the stretch?

Practical Ways to Apply This:

1. Start praying again. Even if your prayers feel weak or repetitive — God hears them.

2. Open up to someone you trust. Healing often begins in community, not isolation.

3. Take action. Fold that shirt. Open that journal. Make the appointment. Start rebuilding.

4. Invest in rest. Sometimes stretching means taking care of yourself without guilt.Remember: Stretching hurts… but it heals.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I confess I’ve been hiding the parts of me that feel broken and withered. I’ve let fear, shame, and discouragement stop me from reaching toward healing. But today, I hear Your voice calling me to stretch. Give me the faith to respond — not because I feel ready, but because I trust You. Heal me as I stretch toward You. In Your name, Amen.

2025 Episode 13: Navigating a world of hate and negativity - Part 4: Set boundaries

Boundaries are not barriers to love or kindness—they are the lines that help protect our hearts, minds, and spirits. They are not selfish, but necessary to ensure that we can love others well without losing ourselves in the process. Galatians 6:5 reminds us of this truth: “For each one should carry their own load.” God has not called us to carry the burdens of others to the point of exhaustion or neglect of our own well-being. He has called us to bear one another's burdens—but not to the detriment of our own health.

2025 Episode 12: Navigating a world of hate and negativity - Part 3: do not be easily offended

We live in a world where offenses are inevitable. It’s part of being human. From harsh words on social media to misunderstandings in the workplace, from family disagreements to conflicts with strangers in public spaces—we are constantly exposed to situations that could trigger offense. And let’s be honest—sometimes it feels like it’s easier to take offense than it is to overlook it. We live in a culture that encourages immediate reactions, where every slight disagreement feels like a personal attack and every disagreement feels like a challenge to our dignity.

But what if we could learn to live differently? What if, instead of instantly reacting to every hurt or slight, we chose to rise above and not let offenses define us or steal our peace?

In a world that constantly pulls us into conflict, the Bible reminds us of a higher calling—one where wisdom and patience lead us to a place where we don’t have to be easily offended. It’s not about ignoring hurt or pretending it doesn’t matter, but about recognizing that we don’t have to carry every offense, and not everything deserves our emotional energy. Wisdom teaches us the power of letting go, of choosing to overlook petty offenses that are not worth the weight they carry.

Today, let’s explore how we can practice wisdom and maturity by learning how to not be easily offended. We’ll see how we can cultivate grace in our relationships and our daily lives, leading to peace that surpasses understanding.

2025 Episode 11: Navigating a world of hate and negativity Part 2: Check Your Emotions

Welcome back to Navigating a World of Hate and Negativity. In this five-part series, we’re unpacking how to rise above the noise, the hurt, and the hostility in the world around us—and live with peace, purpose, and spiritual clarity.

In Part 2, we’re diving into the importance of checking our emotions. Let’s be real—life gets intense. From family tension to online debates, it’s easy to let our emotions run wild. But as followers of Christ, we’re called to something deeper. James 1:19 says, “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.”

So how do we live that out? How do we pause instead of explode, understand instead of react, and reflect Christ even in conflict?

Let’s talk about what it means to take a step back, get emotionally grounded, and allow God to guide our hearts—before our emotions do.

Let’s get into it.

Misunderstanding of "More Faith = More Results": People sometimes ask, "How much faith do I need to have?" or "Is there a limit to how much faith is required for miracles or blessings?"Some people may think that they need to keep increasing the amount of their faith to see results—like "more faith means more miracles."
