Jesus promises every believer the gift of the Holy Spirit; the power that is needed to overcome evil and live a transcendent life. Yet, many believers struggle with a lack of inspiration to obey God or turn away from evils. Others also find that despite their efforts, real change is absent from their lives. Why do so many fail to enter into this divine inheritance that God promises?

In this series, Pastor Jeffrey Walter explores the promise of Another Comforter, the Holy Spirit, highlighting how He secures our divine inheritance and the importance of earnestly seeking, encountering, and recognising His presence and work in us. 

In this message, “The Need for Prayer”, Pastor Jeffrey Walter explains why the divine inheritance (the Holy Ghost) seems far from many and shows that true transformation cannot come from our own strength but from an encounter with the Spirit of God. He teaches that prayer must come first before obedience, because it fixes our gaze on God, helps us deal with the evils of self-reliance, and opens us to receive the Holy Spirit who through obedience transforms us. He further emphasizes the importance of praying for the Spirit of God above all else, and the readiness and perseverance we must have in order to receive Him.
