Whistlejacket by George Stubbs is the favourite of many visitors to the National Gallery in London, whether they are horse lovers, or simply wowed by this huge, true-to-life, characterful animal.

In this six minute podcast, Whistlejacket will be brought to life. You will learn about his owner, a rich and significant Prime Minister of England, his success as a racehorse, and the fascinating theories on why he lives on today in such a monumental portrait.
