Academy of Art University

The Fine Art Painting department is made up of two and a half floors of classroom and studio space (about 25,000 square feet). Our undergraduate and fine art graduate school facilities include twelve classrooms, two of which are full-time anatomy studios, and a full-time multimedia room with theatre seating. Our teaching philosophy and approach is that of time-tested fundamentals and technical skills. This includes accuracy and sensitivity in drawing, design, value control, color concepts which, in turn leads to the development of ideas and personal direction. Our method of instruction is based up on three basic principles, lecture, demonstration and critique.
