The Future of Leadership is Heart-Centered. People are waking up, and realizing there's a better way to do business... and the answer lies in Leadership. I've been leading teams for over 3 decades... all the while, maintaining high Employee Retention numbers, Profit %'s, Revenue $'s, and top Employee Engagement scores... amongst my peers. AND I did it by creating an environment where people felt safe, made mistakes and learned to grow. I simply treated people... with compassion, empathy & kindness. Tune In... to the conversations and join the movement.

60. Maxwell Ishmail, Building Community (starts with you)
Maxwell Ishmail and I worked together for the 3 years I lived in Denver, Colorado from 2010 to 2013. I invited Max on the show as my guest, for a few reasons.
"Thank you, Max", for nudging me to start the podcast.... for putting the idea in my head.
Maxwell's energy is.... "life giving"... he's always bringing people together.
Max (a union employee) joined me, in Management (non-union)... and we built bridges and tore down the wall that had been up for more than 30 years, between the two sides. It was the biggest metaphorical mountain that I've ever had to climb, in my career. But we did the unthinkable. We killed an extreme toxic culture, with kindness....with heart centered leadership... heart influence.
Being Mindful and feeding your Mind with Healthy Content is just as important as what you fee your body.
Slowing down and making time for yourself is important... you can't give what you don't have.
Max started "Lattes for Teachers" as his way to make a difference. It's a platform that combines two things Max is passionate about: building community and a good cup of coffee. See how you can support the teachers: Here's their Facebook Page & Website. https://www.facebook.com/alatteformyteacher www.lattesforteachers.com
Max also works on bringing diversity into his community with the annual Msasa African Market. The Msasa tree is where people will gather in his native country of Zimbabwe. Here’s a link to the Facebook page. Covid has presented a few challenges these past couple of years. https://www.facebook.com/msasaafricanmarket
The way we spend our time. - Making a difference - "It's not about the money, it's about owning my time... you only have some much of it."
I really enjoyed this episode and I hope you do to. I hope that it inspires you to Be Kind, Build Bridges and Climb Mountains. Building Community, starts with you. Be Blessed, my Friend. Please Subscribe to the Podcast... and give me a review on Apple. I would really appreciate it. You can also connect with me on Social.
