Since its inception, the High Water Mark Trail has gone through numerous iterations. The trail is one of the most popular overland routes in the greater Southeast, and gets its name from the numerous creeks and rivers that must be forded along the route.
We sit down and chat with Matt McClellan from Ozark Overland Adventures about the history of the trail, and bring the trail back to live through his tedious research and time spent exploring the Ozark National Forest.
