O’Keane lends her expert perspective to these dialogues, elucidating how her scientific insights offer not just medical, but also cultural and historical understanding. An outspoken advocate for gender equity in medicine, O'Keane brings her own lived experiences to bear, arguing for necessary improvements in the representation and treatment of women in healthcare settings.
