An Outdoor Pride Conversation with Justin Bubenik – OFP (EP:014)
Justin Bubenik joins Todd this week on the Outdoor Feast Podcast via a laptop Zoom call recorded in June to talk about Pride in the Outdoors and how to support our LGBTQ community members. Justin is a Hunt To Eat Ambassador, Executive Director of The Wild Gathering, an attorney, former chair of California's Backcountry Hunters and Anglers Chapter and a hunter and fly angler.
We talk about Justin's background growing up in a hunting family in Oregon. Justin share's some great advice about the importance of pro nouns and how our conversations, words and labels can either build or discourage inclusiveness. We also discuss Joshua Morse's recent article in Outside Online from May 2020 - A Queer Hunter Reflects on Coming Out
Check out Justin's recently published blog post entitled The Juxtaposition of Pride in the Outdoors
