Hello! We are Lee Ann and Aaron Sanchez and we have been parishioners at OLA for about 6 years. We will be celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary this May and have two children, Elijah(6 years) and Malia (4 years) who make life exciting, fun, and challenging. Lee Ann grew up in Ventura and Aaron came into the community when we moved back to the area from San Jose in July 2001. What motivated us to get involved in the parish is our desire to become closer to Christ through the Church. OLA has offered many opportunities for us to do this through such ministries as Living Matrimony, That Man is You, the Women’s Ministry and the music ministry. We are thankful for the many wonderful people at OLA who have challenged and supported us spiritually to help us gain a deeper understanding of our Catholic faith. To us stewardship means acknowledging and responding to the fact that everything we have is a gift from God. We do this by giving our time, talent, and treasure back to God as we trust in Him completely - 9 - and thank Him for all His blessings.

The Mack family consists of Jon and Kathy; daughters Jenny (21) and Kristin (15) and son Justin (9). Jenny is a senior at UCSB majoring in Cultural Anthropology and will graduate in June. Kristin is a sophomore at St. Bonaventure and Justin is in 3rd grade at OLA school. We have been members of OLA parish for over 18 years. Our strongest bond as a family is our faith! This parish is an integral part of our faith and our relationship with God. Our family believes that being a good steward means "being for others".

Callie and Bob Keating have been married for over 27 years. He grew up in Ventura attending St. Bonaventure and then went to UCLA and attended dental school in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up in Riverside and attended Loma Linda University where they met while he was doing a post graduate residency. They have two children, Ryan, who graduated from UC Davis and is now serving with the Peace Corps in Zambia, Africa, and Chelsea, who is a sophomore at UC Santa Cruz. They have resided in Ventura for over 26 years. Bob’s love of music motivated him to get involved with the music ministry about 15 years ago; he played guitar with the traditional choir and plays bass with the LifeTeen music group. Once the kids had grown, Callie had the desire and time to help others and so joined Bob in helping to charter a conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society here at OLA

We have lived in Ventura for nearly our entire lives except for a few years when we were attending college. We are blessed to have two married adult children living in Ventura, Chris and his wife Meagan and their two children Ashlynn 10 and Madalynn 8; and Gina and her husband Dan and their two children Marina 4 and Tyler 18 months. Our grandchildren are 6th generation Venturans. Penny and I have been members of the Our Lady of Assumption parish for many years, but four years ago we saw a revitalization in our parish. The excitement created by a brand new parish administrator, Father Steve Davoren, led to us to be more involved. His desire to create a welcoming and nurturing environment at OLA fit perfectly with our goals as parishioners. We continue to enjoy being a part of the plan to make OLA a true reflection of the love of our Lord. Our spirituality and commitment to the Lord has been enhanced through our active participation in numerous parish organizations and activities. Our entire family believes being a good steward means sharing the gifts the Lord has given to us. Therefore, we have chosen to share our time, talent and treasure with the community with the goal of making OLA stronger and better able to share our Lord’s message with others.

Dan and Cathy Bojorquez have been members of OLA since 1996 when they moved to Ventura. Their family includes two sons, Frank - 20, Michael - 17, and a recent addition, their nephew, Ethan, 16. Dan and Cathy’s involvement at OLA has grown as their family has grown. They started as volunteers for the many OLA school activities their sons were involved in, including Cathy serving as Treasurer for the parent group. Eventually, they became Eucharistric Ministers which they still enjoy. Dan is active in the Knights of Columbus and the Men’s Ministry program, “That Man is You”. Cathy is active in the Confirmation program. This year they started helping with RCIA. Dan is currently in his 2nd year of the Deaconate formation program. The OLA family has been a tremendous blessing to Dan and Cathy and an encouragement in their own faith journeys.
