As we live through this profound generational shift and world transformation OBH gives you an opportunity to stop, reflect and gain some perspective. OBH is a great way to look at the lessons that history has brought us through - that can enlighten us in the present and beyond.
This short introductory episode was recorded after our first interview with our mother Carrie Gamble - the inspiration for us starting this show! We were blown away by her stories and came away with a renewed sense of power and perseverance. She along with so many of our friends and family have their own stories and perspectives on Black History that we hope will give you some context to the world we find ourselves in today.

Teri Gamble is an international performing artist and drama coach who has performed on international stages from Los Angeles to Moscow, Boston and New York. She has appeared on the hit TV series Superstore, Modern Family and ER and has appeared in numerous theater productions and commercials.
Teri is the co-host of Horror Movie Survival Guide – a horror movie podcast you can stream anywhere you listen to podcasts. She is also an avid D&D – tabletop roleplay gamer – and can be found on various podcast and streaming channels on Twitch (Saving Throw Show).

Dr. Brandon Gamble received his training in psychology from Oakwood College for his Bachelor's degree. San Diego State for his Master's degree, and the University of Southern California is where he earned his Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology.
Dr. Gamble's written work and research has focused on African American male's social capital and familial support networks that empower young men to succeed in academics. For his dissertation titled, Social capital networks of institutional agents and the empowerment of African American youth, he interviewed Guide Right program leaders for Kappa League and the African Male Achievers' Network, which are a part of the youth programs of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. He has presented at national and international conferences regarding disproportional placements of minorities in special education, access to quality mental health care in schools, African American student achievement, and Mediated Learning Experiences.
