One Minute Remaining With GhostFace Aka Trinity Matthisen
Welcome to the first episode of "One Minute Remaining" with GhostFace aka Trinity Matthisen. Trinity was wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit almost 20 years ago. In 2002, Trinity paroled to Michigan, looking to make a fresh start. Nine months after his arrival, he was attacked while attempting to break up a fight at a crowded house party. Two people were shot in the melee and Trinity was wrongfully convicted of shooting one of the men involved in the altercation. Although dozens of witnesses were questioned by the police, only one witness pointed the finger at Trinity. That witness, who originally identified the shooter as being a light-skinned black man, was released from probation the day after giving his testimony. And even though none of the victims received life threatening injuries, because of his prior record, Trinity was sentenced to serve 42 to 72 years in prison.
While fighting for his freedom, Trinity has been a vocal advocate for criminal justice reform. He has been featured on several podcasts and worked on personal projects such as Aktive Magazine, Off The Chain and the #FreeTheBigHomie music compilation. He is also a great motivational speaker and has mentored many youngsters coming through the prison system to shape up and get on the right track. Inspiring and uplifting. This episode discusses where the name for the podcast originated from.
